“E-Blade” is Putco’s line of LED blade-style lighting strips intended primarily for public safety / emergency vehicle applications (police, sheriff, fire, etc.). The product variants include Anti-Collision versions (which integrate brake/turn override), standard Emergency Blade / E-Blade strips, Sideliner E-Blade kits, and other vehicle-specific blade-type lighting. These are typically long, narrow LED strips (sometimes semi-flexible) that mount under tailgates, on bumpers, or other rear-facing surfaces to act as auxiliary warning lighting, brake/turn signal augmentation, or strobe pattern lighting. One variant, the E-Blade Anti-Collision 2.0 LED Light Bar, is designed with an embedded feature set to reduce rear-end collisions by overriding its strobe pattern to show brake or turn signals when the vehicle signals.

Features
Across the various E-Blade models and variants, here are the typical and standout features:
| Feature | Details / Notes |
|---|
| LED Technology | Use of COB (Chip-On-Board) LEDs for dense, uniform light output. |
| LED Count / Output | e.g. 1,800 LEDs in many anti-collision variants, producing ~1,400 lumens. |
| Strobe / Flash Patterns | Multiple strobe patterns (for example, 26 patterns in Anti-Collision 2.0) with selectable speed. |
| Brake / Turn Override (Anti-Collision) | In the Anti-Collision models, the bar senses brake or turn signal input from the vehicle’s control system and temporarily prioritizes that over strobe mode, thereby acting as an extension of the vehicle’s rear lighting while still maintaining emergency lighting when signals are not active. |
| Semi-Flexibility / Contouring | Some models are semi-flexible, enabling mounting on slightly curved surfaces without damage. |
| Housing / Sealing / Durability | Fully encapsulated in tinted polycarbonate or similar material to ensure waterproofing, often rated IP69K. |
| No-Drill Mounting / Custom Brackets | Many kits include no-drill mounting hardware and vehicle-specific brackets; wiring is plug-and-play or model-specific harnesses to minimize intrusion. |
| Color / Output Modes | Multi-color options: red, blue, amber, white (for override or scene lighting) depending on variant. |
| Testing / Standards | Some variants are claimed to be “CISPR and SAE rated.” |
| Vehicle-Specific / Government Use | Many E-Blade models are sold only to public safety / government / official entities; shipping may require verification. |

Ideal Use Cases
The E-Blade line is intended for use in public safety / emergency / law enforcement / first responder vehicle upfitting. Specific use cases include:
Rear warning / strobe lighting: adding visual warning at the rear of the vehicle to alert following traffic
Brake / turn signal augmentation in emergency mode: particularly with the Anti-Collision variants, so that even when in strobe/emergency mode, the brake/turn signals are still clearly communicated
Under-tailgate or bumper installation: many kits are designed to fit below the tailgate or within rear bumper zones
Sideliner / side-facing marking: in some applications (e.g. Sideliner E-Blade) the strips are used on side surfaces of vehicles (e.g. on SUVs) to increase side visibility.
Scene lighting / reverse illumination: variants that incorporate white or override modes can provide extra illumination during scenes or reverse operation
Minimal vehicle alteration / stealth installation: with no-drill brackets and plug-and-play harnesses, the E-Blade is suited to retrofitting with minimal vehicle modification
In short: these lights are geared toward professionals (police, EMS, fire) who need both warning capability and signal integrity in a robust, sealed, inconspicuous light strip format.
Warranty
The warranty coverage for E-Blade / Blade / lighting products from Putco has a few nuances. The general Putco warranty policy is documented in their Limited Warranty section.
Key warranty points:
For 12-volt lighting products, Putco provides a one-year limited warranty from the date of initial retail purchase (for defects in workmanship or materials).
Finish surfaces (e.g. powder-coat, painted products, Black Platinum finish) may have shorter warranty for finish (e.g. 90 days) rather than full product.
Putco may offer extended warranties for certain series (e.g. 3-year, 5-year) for specific products or under certain installation conditions (such as installation by Putco-approved upfitter).
For the E-Blade Anti-Collision 2.0 variant, Putco states a 3-year warranty, and when installed via a Putco-approved upfitter, a 5-year warranty.
For many E-Blade variants (standard, tailgate, emergency blade — non–Anti-Collision), the warranty is listed as 1 year (if purchased from authorized reseller).
Warranty limitations / exclusions (from Putco general policy):
Warranty is valid only for the initial retail purchaser and is not transferable.
Improper installation, misuse, alterations, abuse, normal wear & tear, or accident damage are excluded.
Finish issues (e.g. paint, coating) may have shorter coverage.
Labor, removal, shipping, and installation costs are the responsibility of the customer if replacement/repair is warranted.
Warranty claims must be made within certain time periods; also, for products purchased through unauthorized resellers (e.g. non-authorized Amazon/Ebay sellers), implied warranty durations may be reduced (e.g. to 30 days) per Putco policy.
